IPL Laser Light Hair Removal

Most safe and advanced method!

Spa Alita  introduces:

SkinTECTM is the most advanced light-based system which provides you with more than any other intense pulse light device.

SkinTecTM Provides multiple skin treatments including permanent hair removal, photorejuvenation for broken capillaries and age spots, and skin tightening.

Not all hair sits at the same depth and the choice of several filters and pulse durations allow the SkinTECTM system to target different depths and sizes of hair follicles. SkinTECTM technology for hair reduction provides consistent results and the ability to treat large areas with continuous contact cooling, speed and safety.

This IPL system technology provides a procedure that is gentle and non-invasive, with nominal side effects.

With its powerful, innovative software, IPL system treatment parameters can be selected according to an individual's specific skin color, hair color and hair density. This major advantage allows the esthetician to customize each individual treatment based on personal experience, as well as the unique attributes of the hair follicles.

As a result of this computer-generated precision, the IPL system has proven effective on a wide range of hair colors, from blonde through auburn to brown and dark black hair. Most important of all, the IPL system successfully removes hair from all skin types — from porcelain white through olive to dark brown complexions.

In addition, IPL system technology enables the esthetician to efficiently remove hair from any part of the body, no matter how deep the follicles may reside. Treatment of sensitive areas like the lips, ears, nose, underarms and bikini line can usually be tolerated with minimal discomfort.

Another IPL system advantage is its wide treatment area, enabling the device to treat patients rapidly. In fact, approximately 100 - 200 hairs can be treated with each flash of the light, so that large swaths of hair on the legs, back and chest can be treated quickly in a single session.

Frequently Asked Question

How it Works?

Highly controlled pulses of laser light are selectively absorbed by hair follicles lying below the surface of the skin. Lasers use pulsed light to target, break down and destroy the melanin (dark pigment) in the hair. The best candidates are those with light skin and dark hair because the light is most attracted to dark hair, which makes it easier to destroy.

The absorbed light heats and destroys the hair follicle, preventing regrowth from occurring and without damaging surrounding tissues. The hairs go through three different stages during their life cycle at different periods of time. The hair is most vulnerable to laser at one of those stages (growth stage) which is why several treatments are required to assure the destruction of hair follicles.

Is there Skin Contact or Cooling?

It is very important to protect the top layers of the skin from becoming too hot during a laser treatment.  When the tip of the laser (made of crystal) is placed on the skin, it cools down the upper layer of the skin and protects it from getting too hot.  A clear like topical gel is also applied prior to the treatment to help alleviate any discomfort from the heat. With this in mind, it also allows us to use higher energies at a very safe level, and thus obtain better results.

When Does Your Hair Fall Out After Treatment?

Hair falls out within 10-14 days.

What Areas Can be Treated?

Lasers and pulsed light target several follicles at once, so you can treat large areas of skin. While it would take years to perform electrolysis on the back or legs, a typical laser hair removal session on both legs usually takes under 30 minutes. Lasers are great for treating the back, underarms, lip, shoulders, arms, legs, chest, and bikini.

How Long Do They Take?

Each session can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour depending on the area being treated. The larger the area is, the longer the time is required.

It takes 4-6 laser hair removal sessions spaced between 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on the hair type and the part of the body being treated. Subsequent sessions are scheduled when the hair begins to regrow, lasting anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

How do I Prepare?

It is important to be freshly shaven before your intial treatment. Waxing and electrolysis should be discontinued, since laser needs to recognize the hair and its follicle in order to obtain results. Skin must be fully cleansed and free of creams or lotions before contact with laser.

What is the Pain Factor?

The pulsed light in laser hair removal feels like a rubber band snapping against your skin. Each individual had a different pain tolerance and this can be overcome by numbing solutions and creams.

Can I continue to go in the sun?

Avoid the sun and wear sun block for at least two weeks before and after receiving treatment. Also notify your esthetician about the extent of your recent sun exposure. Skin is much more sensitive when it has had sun exposure and can result in burning or discoloration during a laser treatment.
