What is a Photorejuvenation treatment like? 

A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated, and you maybe given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light that emits from the IPL. The smooth and cooling glass crystal from the IPL hand-piece where the pulse of light is emitted, is gently applied to your skin. You may feel a slight tingling, sting or snapping similar to an elastic band against the skin. Treatment is generally administered in a series of procedures that provide excellent long term results, minimal adverse effects, and guaranteed satisfaction. Each treatment takes about 20 minutes, depending on the extent of surface areas to be treated.

Why are multiple treatments necessary?

Depending on the number of conditions you are treating, and the severity of the individual problem, a series of five or six treatment sessions are recommended for superior results. You can return to work the same day and resume all regular activities. By dividing the full program into several treatments, the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk and it preserves the wonderful “ no downtime” feature that people appreciate so much.

Is the procedure painful?

You will experience a slight sensation as the pulses of light are passed over your skin. This sensation is very mild and easily tolerated. Topical aesthetic creams are not required but are available for individuals who wish to numb the skin.

How many treatments are required?

A series of 5 to 6 treatments is scheduled about 4-6 weeks apart. Each treatment takes no longer than 30 minutes.

How long will the results last?

The results are achieved from the treatment series and can be expected to last several years or longer. However, with the passage of time and with environmental exposure and health issues, the skin ages as we do. Photorejuvenation will provide benefits and significantly reverse many of the visible signs of sun damaged skin. After your treatment series, it is best recommended to follow up with maintenance treatment once or twice a year.
